LISTEN to The Voice of The Lord
-LISTEN-
"...Speak, Lord; for Thy servant heareth..."
(I Samuel 3:9)
I am Paul Murphy, Pastor of Trinity AME Zion Church in Southern Pines, NC, and I’m grateful to God to be a candidate for Bishop.
My platform is simple—to LISTEN.
First, to God’s Voice; for only God knows the various situations that may arise, and only God can give the wisdom necessary for the most appropriate response.
But I also want to LISTEN, to the voices of God’s children.
For people are hurting—crying out, in so many ways,
And I wonder, “Am I quiet enough;
Am I being still enough to listen?”

I would like to serve, as a Bishop, who will listen—with discernment.
A Bishop who will support and encourage ministers and laity alike.
A Bishop who will be in position—to LISTEN to God.
For it is God who gives Divine Direction to His Church.
It is God who breathes His Spirit into the sails of that “Old Ship of Zion.”
It is God who will send us powerfully over the waters of adversity, into those places of pain and hurt—where we, as the AME Zion church, can speak directly into the issues of our day—so to eradicate the rhetoric of hate, with the gospel of LOVE.
So, please keep me in your prayers, as I seek to do God’s will.
Just as Samuel responded to the voice of the Lord, saying, “Speak Lord, for Thy servant heareth,” I too, want—to LISTEN!
